Our Story
Welcome to Mountain of Blessings!
We've got a bit of everything – clothing, accessories, and printables – all centered around the main goal of helping customers: Love Jesus, live simply, and make the most of each moment.
Mountain of Blessings is run by me, Carrie, but I couldn't do it without the help from my family. I'm a former middle school math teacher, turned (mostly) stay at home mom who is passionate about doing as many side-hustles as necessary so I don't have to go back to work full-time.
The Name:
Mountain of Blessings is located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, near Massanutten Mountain. This mountain has a unique shape as you can from the picture above and in the logo. I can see this mountain from my house, my church, when I run my errands and when I taxi my kids. It has always been a constant reminder of just how big and awesome God is and how I need to keep HIM as the focal point of my life.
The name also comes from Genesis 12:2-3 where God tell Abraham that he has been blessed so they he can bless others. I know God has blessed me with special gifts and talents that I can use to bless you and others in my community!
How it all started:
After years of struggling to work full-time outside the home and be a full-time mom, I left teaching in 2015 I knew I'd never go back. However, it's really hard to live as a family of 5 on one income. We figured it out though with a lot of hustle and a lot of side jobs. In 2022, I realized that even though I was content with our life, I wanted to be able to give more. Our budget was stretched as far as it could go so the only solution was the make more money if I wanted to give more.
In October of 2022 I was walking through a fall festival and saw a t-shirt that said "Coffee and Jesus". It annoyed me so much! First of all, Jesus should always be a higher priority than coffee, and second I couldn't believe how much the lady was charging for a shirt I could make myself! And that's when the idea of selling shirts was born :)
Giving Back:
With every purchase you make, you're helping Mountain of Blessings live out our mission all about giving back to our community, especially those little ones in need. A portion of each purchase goes straight into providing weekend meals for local elementary school with food insecurity.
